The celebrations are split across two locations. The Welcome Dinner will be in Cape Town, the vibrant city on the coast. Then everyone travels about 45 minutes east into the Winelands for the main events - the Sangeet, Ceremony, and Reception are all at Boschendal, a beautiful historic wine estate in the Franschhoek Valley. Stellenbosch is another well-known wine town in the same region, about 20 minutes away. Think of it like this: Cape Town is the big city, Franschhoek and Stellenbosch are charming villages in the surrounding wine country (aka The Winelands), and Boschendal is an estate nestled between them - that's where we'll be hosting the main wedding festivites!
Totally fine! We know it's a destination wedding for many, and not everyone can carve out several days away.If you can only make it to the main events, we'll be so happy you're there. If you are planning on arriving early and can stay for the full run, even better. Just let us know which events you'll be joining when you RSVP, so we can plan numbers and catering accordingly. And if you fall in love with Cape Town and the Winelands and decide to extend your trip indefinitely, we won't stop you.
Your invitation will indicate who it's extended to. We've kept our guest list intentional, so we appreciate your understanding here!
Babies are most definitely welcome! That said, if you'd prefer a few nights off and want to leave them with grandparents or a child-minding service, that's totally your call. For older children, we've named them individually on invitations; if yours are included, please RSVP for them too so we can sort their seats and meals. To the parents joining with little ones - we hope to see you dancing with us all night! If they need a moment during the ceremony, speeches, or performances, feel free to slip out and back in whenever suits - we totally understand. As we have exclusive use of Boschendal for the weekend, babysitting services are also available on request - simply reach out to Holiday Nannies and mention that you're joining us for the March 2027 Boschendal wedding hosted by Mon Amour.
March marks the start of autumn in the Cape Winelands, but the weather stays warm and mostly dry - think sunny days around 27°C (81°F) and cooler evenings dipping to around 14°C (57°F). We'd recommend layers for the evenings, and don't forget sunscreen for the daytime celebrations.
The celebrations will be a mix of indoors and outdoors: Welcome Dinner - TBCSangeet - OutdoorsCeremony - OutdoorsReception - Indoors & Outdoors
There are a range of activities to get involved in such as wine tasting, horse riding, hikes, picnics, and more. Please find details below and book in advance.boschendal.com/experiencesThe best time to do this would be the morning of the first day (March 10th), or on the day after the last event (March 12th).
